KAU's Vice Presidency for GSSR
is the backbone of educational and scientific development in KAU, as
the Vice Presidency, represented by Deanship of Graduate Studies, is
responsible for preparing graduates to be accountable for university
education, whether at KAU or other universities, institutes, and
other higher education institutions.
Therefore, KAU, represented by
Vice Presidency for GSSR
is working hard to develop and increase graduate programs, both in
quantity and quality so as to achieve its objectives and aspirations
through preparing qualified teaching staff to join its staff members
or work at other universities and institutions.
With the grace of Allah, the number of graduate programs during the
academic year 1433-1434 increased as follows.
KAU's Vice Presidency for GSSR
was keen on moving forward with its policy aiming at increasing the
numbers of students and diversifying their disciplines in graduate
programs which made the result as follows:

Which resulted in a huge impact on the number of graduates in
graduate programs as follows:
Scholarship
Scholarship is the main pillar to achieve the objectives of
KAU's Vice Presidency for GSSR,
so as to qualify Saudi staff to occupy academic and administrative
jobs in all KAU's sectors.
Therefore, KAU, represented by
Vice Presidency for GSSR,
take into account that scholarship should be to highly-cited world
universities in relevant disciplines, in addition to the Vice
Presidency's keenness to diversify the intellectual and geographical
schools when Prize Giving scholarships to its students.
KAU is working to increase the numbers of scholarship students on a
permanent basis to be the future faculty staff members upon their
return as they will contribute to the educational and research
process and community service.
The number of KAU scholarship students until 1433 was as follows:
Sabbatical, Conferences, Academic Liaison and Academic Promotion
The faculty staff members are the most important part in the
educational process however they are wholly affiliated to KAU's Vice
Presidency for Educational Affairs.
The faculty staff member is entitled to four rights on KAU's Vice
Presidency for GSSR, which are fully provided by the Vice
Presidency, as long as he satisfies set requirements.
Rights include (4) pivots:

Sabbatical:
Once it is duly deserved by the faculty staff member, KAU's Vice
Presidency for GSSR, represented by the Scientific Council, grants
him such privilege after fulfilling requirements.

Academic Liaison:
Academic liaison for the faculty staff member to other universities
through his counterparts in the academic discipline is one of the
first steps to develop staff members' abilities and skills. Academic
isolation is the first step towards the end of the academic career
of the faculty staff member. Therefore, KAU's Vice Presidency for
GSSR is keen on providing the opportunity for every staff member who
fulfills the systematic and academic requirements of an academic
liaison which will benefit the teaching and research abilities of
the faculty staff members.
The number of academic liaison winners for the academic year
1432/1433 amounted to (26).
(3) Attendance of conferences:
One of KAU’s basic policies to develop the performance and abilities
of the faculty staff member is to provide opportunities to attend
conferences, seminars, and academic meetings inside and outside KAU
on local and international levels.
Once the systematic requirements to attend a conference or academic
meeting are met, KAU Scientific Council will not hesitate to allow
the faculty staff member to attend the conference to achieve
interest for himself and KAU.

The number of KAU's faculty staff members who attended several
conferences in 1433 amounted to (547).
(4) Academic Promotion
Job security and academic safety of the faculty staff member means
not denying him his right in academic promotion for any reason
whatsoever once he satisfies all applicable academic and systematic
requirements to be eligible for promotion.
Therefore, KAU Vice Presidency for GSSR, represented by KAU
Scientific Council, spares no effort in giving every staff member
his right for promotion without
favoritism or injustice as the academic promotion of the faculty
staff member is in fact a promotion of the academic and research
process and community service.
